Women Artisanship
Empowering women through the strength of independence.

In Mandalay, Burma, the Foundation built a dedicated workshop to provide women from diverse, and sometimes conflicting, faith backgrounds with high-level professional skills. It was designed to provide economic independence in a safe, professionalized environment.
Our work in Burma is currently paused to protect our partners following the coup in February 2021. We remain deeply committed to promoting economic development and dignified employment in the country, and demonstrating the tangible benefits of an open, tolerant society. We hope to be able to resume work when conditions permit.

Mission & Impact
The work provided vulnerable women with the high-level skills and economic opportunities needed to achieve independence. The mission was to provide jewellery making training in a safe environment, fostering peace through shared artisanal craft.
The project has provided long-term economic stability for women from Buddhist and Muslim backgrounds, proving that when women are given the tools for economic success, they become powerful catalysts for interfaith peace.
